Winter weather reminders

It's that season again! Included below are reminders about how families and staff can expect to receive information from the Bethel School District in the event of hazardous weather conditions.

When hazardous weather (snow, ice, storms etc.) is a concern, decisions regarding schedule changes are made in the early morning, before 6 a.m., when current weather conditions can be assessed. Our main concern is the safety of our students and staff.

How families will receive information:
  • In the event of school closures or delays due to inclement weather, Bethel families can expect to first be alerted via text message, email, and/or voice message through our ParentSquare system.
The Bethel District website and social media sites will also be updated with any closure or delay information. Learn more about inclement weather in Bethel.

Bethel’s Green Teams

It’s a WRAP!
The Bethel Green Teams ask you to consider our planet this holiday season. If you celebrate by exchanging gifts, please join us and say, “it’s a wrap!” to wrapping paper. Statistics show that over 3 billion pounds of wrapping paper end up in our landfills annually, and that’s just in the United States. Wrapping paper is not recyclable because of its added glitters and paints. You can still enjoy the element of surprise by finding innovative but sustainable ways to hide your presents. Empty cereal and frozen food boxes will do the trick. Everyone could use another cup or towel, as well as a pillowcase or t-shirt, thrift one to conceal your gifts and it will be a two-in-one! How much fun would it be to see who among your loved ones can create the most unique way to give a gift? We encourage you to spend your money on items that will be used, not on wrapping paper that, while beautiful, will simply be torn to shreds and tossed into our already overstuffed landfills.
